A snapshot of myself performing with chroma-key onto a background created from animated watercolors of nuclear atmospheric tests. The merging of the two spaces forces negotiation between the physicality of myself and that of the flash of a nuclear bomb.

Conceptually, I’m am interested in the symbolic dimension of light—in particular the use of the term and the image itself, in evangelical and military text/propaganda contexts, to evoke both awe and fear.
