Invited
by San Francisco's Mr. J (aka Jonathan Fogel of AOV
Gallery) to participate in his infamous fashion show
for New Langton Arts' Annual auction gala, I was unable
to attend due to geographical distance. To solve this
problem we collaborated to create a "virtual
me" that would be present at the live performance.
Mr.
J mailed me a collection of vintage dresses along
with the soundtrack he assembled for the fashion show,
and I dressed up and danced around my living room
for my camera. Afterwards, I composited myself into
images of illuminated disco clubs found by an online
search, and created this silly, but very fun, video.
At
the live event my video was projected large-scale
onto the gallery wall as an accompaniment to the fashion
show.
